Icopal did it again - won the Norwegian championship in logistics

25-10-2006

This year's Norwegian Championship in Logistics took place on 25 October, and Icopal Norway was to defend its position as title holder. It has never happened before that a company has won twice!

This year there were 16 companies being qualified, and in the final Icopal met, among others, Schenker Linjegods, Posten Logistikk (Norway Post Logistics), Prior, Brödrene Dahl and Bladsentralen.

This year's subjects were:

 1. Just in Time (JIT): How can you apply this logic in your company?

2. Mime a logistic phrase.
(Icopal drew "When standard deviation is low, the reserve stock becomes low")
- These are not the easiest words to mime!

 3. Do you want to become a millionaire?  15 logistics questions.  If you give wrong answers, you have to start over, and then the answer alternatives have been rearranged.

4. Case Wal-Mart and differentiated distribution solutions.
- The teams were to evaluate the Wal-Mart solutions in view of Norwegian conditions.

The subjects were a good mix of theory put into practice, plus the challenging miming task!

We are proud to inform that the Icopal team did a good job defending the title, and that we hold the title as Norwegian Logistic Champions for another year!

Icopal was represented by the same team as last year:

Per Andresen, import/export manager
Silje Holden, distribution manager
Ulf Sogge, operating manager
Gaute Hörlyk, logistics manager
