Icopal acquires OKmont in the Czech Republic
Deal makes Icopal a market leading specialist sub-contractor
Icopal Group has acquired 51% of the contracting company OKmont – STM, spol. s.r.o. OKmont is Icopal’s first step in contracting in the Czech Republic and together with Icopal’s roofing contracting activities in Poland will serve as a platform for further expansion of the contracting business in Central and Eastern Europe.
For a number of years OKmont, with a yearly turnover of about 20 M€ and about 100 employees, has been a leading building contractor within metal constructions, metal roof and facade cladding. In addition OKmont has a small manufacturing facility for aluminium windows.
The acquisition of OKmont is a continuation of the Icopal’s expansion into metal contracting which until now had been focused on the Nordic Countries. Through OKmont, Icopal will now also have a leading position in the Czech Republic.
“Contracting has been on our agenda for some time in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and OKmont is a perfect start being a well managed and profitable company. OKmont will be part of the Czech and Slovak SBU operating under its own name and with the existing staff and management.
