Icopal products sweep the board at the Flat Roofing Association Awards

Four out of the ten projects that were presented with awards at this years FRA AGM went to contractors using Icopal products.

First prize for Best Refurbishment Project under 1000m2 went to Capital Roofing for their work at Bromley High School using Icopal’s Thermaweld Cap Sheet which was copper faced to produce an interesting hexagonal pitched roof.

Second prize for Best New Build Project was awarded to Briggs Roofing and Cladding who installed Icopal’s FireSmart™ at the new Debenham’s roof at the Metro Centre, Gateshead. This is the largest FireSmart™ project to date with a total of 13,000m2 of Profile Plus Metal Capping with FireSmart ™ Olympic TR being laid.

Brindley Asphalt also took second place in the Best Refurbishment Project under 1000m2 category for their work at Hereford College using Icopal Total Torch cap sheet, and Best Refurbishment Project over 1000m2 saw Capital Roofing in 3rd place for the Boston & MacKenzie Estate, Islington using Icopal Anderson Profiles.

Bill Jenkins, Director of the FRA said, '"These Awards are really catching the imagination and showing the versatility of the products available in the industry today. Many of the 50 or so projects submitted showed a partnership between the contractors and manufacturers which enabled the satisfactory installation of some truly excellent roof waterproofing using bituminous felts. The FRA are delighted that through the Awards Scheme we are able to tell the world about these successes".
